How does the cable guy install voip phone?
I was thinking about upgrading to cable internet from DSL. A few years my neighbor tried to get cable internet, but the cable guy said he could not add any new outlets since we're in a condo. I was thinking he was referring to the a coaxial cable outlet (which there isn't one near the desk) So I thought if I had the modem in my room and used a splitter to split cable tv and cable internet I'd be fine. Upon more research I found out that the phone lines in the house wont work since it is voip or something. I found out you have to install something, so is there any necessary wiring the cable guy would have to put outside the building for our phone lines to work if we upgraded to cable internet, or would they just add a filter like dsl or a new phone outlet. How does this work I really want to get cable internet, and it'd suck if the phone was holding me back from getting it. We have 2 wireless phones and a base, that's the only phones we use so having them on all outlets wouldn't be a necessity, but it'd be nice to have. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
