Guitar effects lines... active/passive/buffers/good grief what?
In most cases, using both amplifier inputs at the same time is not a great idea, as it will compromise the tone of your guitar. Also, using reverb and delay simultaneously can result in a mushy tone with considerable loss of clarity. Given that all you are really trying to do is control the amount of “ambience”, I would suggest an alternate approach. Using a Boss DD-7 Digital Delay coupled with a Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal (or similar arrangement from another manufacturer) would allow you to vary the amount of delay on the fly, all the way from no effect to full-on spaciousness. Please see a href="http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_08-23964/DD-7_e2.pdf" rel="nofollow"http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_08-…/a for details. Take a delay pedal for a test drive at your local music store to see if it will give you the effect you are looking to find. Remember that the fewer active components between your guitar and amplifier, the easier it will be to dial in your perfect tone. Best regards, Dana
